Release notifications

System banners vs in-app unread, and how to quiet them

Purpose

When a subscribed repo ships a Release and polling sees it, macOS may show a banner, and the timeline / Activity can show unread marks. A notification is a reminder. Assets still download from the list.

Content usually includes repo name, tag, and Release title. A click jumps to that Release / timeline.

To quiet things: disable system banners, or the in-app Release switch, or unsubscribe low-priority repos to free slots.

Notes

No system permission means no banner. Timeline unread can still appear.

Clicking a system notification often lands on the notification timeline or the Release timeline. See Activity.
