Where citation chips come from, how to verify, and what to do when there are none

Purpose

[owner/repo] chips in a RAG answer show which chunk was used. Open them before relying on a claim that might over-compress or mix repositories. Treat uncited claims as unverified.

How to use them

After a click: the Inspector shows evidence; the UI may switch to the citations pane and scroll. Sources can include README, notes, AI summaries, and similar.

Keyword hits on metadata chunks and library stats also show real snippets; you do not have to wait for vectors.

When there are no citations

The question may be too broad, the model may not have annotated, the index may miss the repo, or @ excluded the real source. Rephrase → check the index → @ the repo explicitly.
